Responsibilities
The selected candidate will lead and manage a team of Firmware Engineers developing embedded firmware for enterprise class Solid State Drives (SSD). He/She will oversee the activities of the firmware team in Malaysia; own complete delivery of derivative products from requirements through customer qualification; work with cross-functional teams, including Program Managers, on providing detailed scope and schedule with high degree of accuracy; hire top notch talent, inspire and motivate the team to deliver firmware on time with high quality; and oversee adoption and adherence to corporate processes.
Requirements

Masters or Bachelors degree in Electronics/Computer Engineering or Computer Science
12-15 years of software development experience with at least 5 years in a managerial role
Knowledge of structured software development methodology, development lifecycle and exposure to mature, disciplined software engineering process
Prior experience with SoC (System on Chip) firmware development.
Knowledge of C programming.
Experience in product development with embedded microprocessors such as PowerPC, ARC, ARM or equivalent.
Experience with storage systems and storage protocols (SAS, SATA, PCIE) preferred
Prior experience with flash management preferred
Prior product level experience using modern RTOS for embedded systems preferred
Understanding of file system IO operation and/or transaction level storage
Understanding of RAID, compression and encryption technologies
Strong Project Management skills like scoping, scheduling, tracking and reporting progress, resource allocation and resource management.
Familiarity with Microsoft Project
Strong people management and leadership skills.
Strong analytical skills
Ability to multitask effectively in time critical environment
Strong communication and inter-personal skills
