QA Software Engineer

Job Description
Our Client, a Leading IT service Provider is looking for a QA Software Engineer with excellent manual and automation testing skills. The candidate should take direction and deliver results with limited supervision. Should have extensive experience in QA testing. An understanding of network management principals is also desired. Should be able to work in a global software development environment and be able to communicate effectively with different cultures in different time zones. The candidate will work on a development environment with strong emphasis on a continuous integration process, unit testing and peer reviews.
Skills Required

Minimum of 5 years experience in software productquality assurance with an emphasis on quality engineering in heterogeneousinformation systems and business environments.
Hands on experience conducting acceptance, regression,feature and performance testing both in manual and automated environments.
Experience with short release cycles (quarterly orshorter).
Experience with utilizing test automation forweb-based, and client-server software using commercial test automationtools from companies such as Selenium, Segue Silk, HP QTP, IBM RFT, etc.
Experience with developing comprehensive test plans andorganizing testing for complex applications; product testing; analyzingsystem failures and determining areas of weakness.
Experience with Web based product Architectures;Ability to assess commercial level performance, scalability, androbustness system issues in web based products.
Experience with Oracle based products on UNIX (Solarisand Linux preferred) and development environments and products on Windowssystems.
Experience with SQL, creating statements, verifyingtest results and gathering test data from the database.
Experience with testing Java, JavaScript and XML basedproducts at the API level
Experience with testing applications on TomCat,WebSphere or Apache web servers
Experience with Object-oriented Software DevelopmentMethodologies
NMS Experience is a big plus
Minimum of a BS degree in technology related field(equivalent experience will be considered).
Demonstrated longevity in the testing field and inspecific jobs

Preferred Skills:
In addition to the above required skills, it is preferred that candidates also have some or all of the following skills:

Familiarity with and ability to code/code review in thefollowing languages: TCL, Expect, Perl, Action script, MXML, Ajax, HTML5
Familiarity and experience with the Eclipse and FlashBuilder IDEs
Experience with JMeter, JUnit, JPerformer, JTest,ANT/Maven, LoadRunner, Selenium, YSlow/FireBug/FireBug Lite
Basic understanding of Cisco networking devices
Experience with portal framework-based testing usingproducts such as LifeRay/Quickr
