JobDescription

SupportInstallation of OVO agents on various OS â€" Windows, Solaris, HPUX & AIX -building the parameter monitoring templates & applying those to theagents
Discovery of themanaged elements (servers, network devices, databases, webservers, applications)& creating maps as per client requirements
Monitoring the HPOV management servers & ensuring that all the modules / services are up& running
Troubleshootingproblems faced in daily operations on the OV setup, including making technicalsupport calls to the vendor and follow-up withsame.
Generation ofvarious configured reports, as per the need â€" also automation of such existingreports as needed.
Capacity planningusing both OpenView and TeamQuest
Advise onPerformance Tuning recommendations through use of Confiotools
Developing newmonitors within OpenView
Working with otherteams to determine (and implement) their monitoringrequirements

Requirements:

Minimum AdvancedDiploma/Bachelor Degree or Masters in Computer Science, Information Technologyor equivalent.
At least 3 yearsof IT experience
Close to 1 year ofhands-on experience on HP OpenView product suite
Good knowledge ofOpenView modules is required: HP OpenView Operations (OVO)/ HP OV Network NodeManager (NNM)/ Various OVO agents/ OV Performance Insight (OVPI)/ Oracle DBSPI/OpenView Service Navigator/ Lotus Notes SPI/ Unix(Solaris&AIX) OS systemtuning.
Experience in thefollowing would also be greatly appreciated: SiteScope Monitoring/ TeamQuest-capacity planning/management tool(and/or general capacity planning skills)/Confio Ignite â€" Wait-time based performance tool/ OracleDatabases
Should have workedas an administrator providing support to Openview products & handled theresponsibilities listed in ‘job requirements’ below in a fairly large ITenvironment
Should have verygood understanding of the IT infrastructure area (Server hardware, OS â€" Windows,Solaris, Linux, AIX, HPUX etc, Networks â€" LAN, WAN)
Knowledge of UNIXshell scripting required (Perl preferred).
