Job Title: Specialist Engineer(Telecommunications)

Location: Bangalore

Reporting To: Group Manager (India Operations)

Overall Purpose:
Provide Operational and 24/7 field support (feet on the street) to customers in and around Bangalore, India.

Principal Job Responsibilities:
1 Support the acceptancetesting of local loops for connections into VzB frame and IP and PIP network and meet the RFS date.
2 Support INE, PM, ISD and GDNI for install of Frame, PIP and IP backbone network.
3 Support GDE and ops (US, SNG, UK) for provisioning of IPLC, GDL
4 Support ROC, US/NOC, UK/NSRUT, CMS for maintenance of Frame, IP, IPLC circuits and managed services.
5 Support GDNO for PIP, IP and Frame node maintenance.
6 Support INE/INP for new capacity planning and install.
7 Support INE for coordination with India cxr’s like Tatacom, Reliance and BHarti for IPLC routing issues and for network Regrooms and Optimization.
8 Support RLO and restoration groups for planning/implementing restoration activities.
9 Assist in circuit design, software configuration, physical wiring, cross connects and mapping of MCI’s equipment in support of provisioning and maintenance.
10 Perform cross connection and testing of network connectivity
11 Support CPE install and site turn up at customer premise
12 Support backbone equipment/network installation and activation
13 Perform fault troubleshooting and isolation of both customer and backbone incidents to meet MTTR.
14 Perform network maintenance for customer and backbone network
15 Manage suppliers/PTT/vendors for smooth delivery of service and meet RFS date & MTTR.
16 Perform escalations to suppliers/PTT/vendors and internal management when necessary.
17 On standby 7x24 to attend to call outs and meet ETA.
18 Use OSS systems like F&E, ETMS, MASTARS, etc, and update pertinent information as required.
19 Maintain hardware spares and performs RMA of faulty equipment.
20 Maintain an up-to-date database of local technical/POP sites details
21 Maintain the technical and POP sites are in optimal condition for production networks.
22. Submit weekly report on the operations work/tasks and projects completion

Qualifications and Experiences: (E = Essential; D = Desirable)

Bachelor’s Degree holder in Electronics / telecommunications -E
3-4 years experience in the telecommunication industry - E
experience in Voice Switch Network & Transmission Systems including optical fibre, SDH and satellite systems. - D
experience in Network Management Systems and Data Communication networks.-D
Possess excellent network troubleshooting/isolation skills- E.
Possess good working attitude and have drive for results - E.
Possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills. - E
Literate in PC skills is mandatory. - E
