Country Manager - Sales & Service - EXPONENT GLOBAL CONSULTING PTE LTD

Exponent Global Consulting is a Singapore-based boutique consulting firm that offers consulting and support services in the field of talent management, acquisition and development. We work closely with our partners and associates in Australia, China, India, West Europe and the US to deliver a range of strategic interventions across multiple organization levels. We work selectively with clients in Asia and focus on high impact initiatives.


The employer is one of world’s largest manufacturer-distributors of Outdoor Powered Equipment, especially products for maintaining lawns. The US-headquartered company employs more than 10,000 people across multiple locations in North America, West Europe and Asia and has a global network of dealers and distributors. Its products are sold at all the prominent Retail Chains and Hardware/DIY stores. It offers a wide range of products from hand-held to large lawn mowers for sports fields and golf courses.
The company plans to set up a sales and service organization in India and is looking for a high-caliber professional to join the team as :
Position: Country Manager - Sales & Service

Role & Responsibilities
The selected candidate will report to General Manager â€" Asia and will be responsible for developing a channel network for Sales and After Sales Service. He/she will contribute to the long term growth strategy of the company in India and will support in overall business development. Specific responsibilities include:

creating, delivering and implementing a National Sales Program in accordance with the overall corporate strategy;
identifying, qualifying and appointing suitable channel partners in different parts of the country;
developing, managing and growing relationships with channel partners and large institutional customers;
providing training to Distributors/Dealers in sales & product features;
product testing and certification, as required;
overall P&L management;
budgeting, monitoring and reporting; and
maintaining and managing customer sales forecasts and coordination with production, shipments, spares and after-sales service.
Requirements

Graduate Degree from a reputed university. An MBA would be preferred.
At least 10-12 years of relevant working experience
Thorough understanding of the Indian Outdoor Powered Equipment (mainly lawn care equipment) marketplace and hardware/specialty retail customers
Strong exposure to mechanical/electrical powered driven products such as Tillers/Mowers/Brush-cutters/Chainsaws will be an advantage.
Strong experience in developing and managing a nationwide distribution and service network.
Strong commercial and negotiation skills
Experience in developing and conducting technical training programs for service technicians.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Hindi and English. Knowledge of other Indian languages will be an advantage.
Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
Ability to travel extensively
Experience in participation in Trade Shows would be advantageous.

Ability to build and lead a small highly-motivated team
