Director – Shared Services Centre - EXPONENT GLOBAL CONSULTING PTE LTD

The employer is a global electronics manufacturer with manufacturing operations in several countries. The company is listed on NYSE and employs several thousand people in 20 countries. Its activities cover various stages of the global electronics manufacturing supply chain â€" from design and engineering to manufacturing and logistics. It works in a highly matrixed and effective organization structure and is known for its dynamic work culture.
The company is planning to set up a global shared services centre for Finance, IT, HR and other functions in Malaysia and is looking for a high-caliber senior professional to join the team as :

Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will be responsible for design and implementation phases of the new Shared Services Centre and will assume responsibility for the ongoing operations of the Centre after implementation. He/She will:

identify activities and functions best suited to a shared service model
design and develop the infrastructure necessary to deliver those functions
facilitate the migration of activity from site and country-specific locations to a central location while preventing or minimizing business interruption.
partner with the site financial controllers and functional heads and global management teams to ensure that key global functional processes are integrated effectively into the Shared Services Centre model, resulting in increased efficiency and scalability designed to support the anticipated growth of the company.
provide a high-quality service to its partner controllers and functional heads (in the operating locations) for the functions managed by the Centre as well as deliver global reporting to Corporate functional management.
carry out continuous improvement exercises after transition to drive a more efficient and scalable global process.
control and report costs against a centrally held budget for the Centre. Additionally, identify and manage opportunities for cost savings through efficiency gains.
formulate the Service mentality and promote the understanding of how the Services Centre contributes to value within the organization
identify and initiate process efficiency improvements and drive sustainable change in behavior
recruit, lead and inspire the Services Centre staff to attain the long-term operational efficiencies envisioned by the company.
Requirements:
Ideal candidates would have:

Graduate/Post Graduate degree in Finance, Business Studies, Engineering or Science from reputed institutions. A CPA or an MBA would be preferred.
15-20 years of relevant work experience in top tier global corporations, of which at least 5 should ideally be in a leadership role in a Shared Services organization handling high volume of transactional processing
Experience with Lean Six Sigma preferred
Exposure to large scale manufacturing sector preferred
Proven expertise in a business partner role and in managing relationships
Knowledge of US GAAP and SOX internal control requirements
Successful track record in leading change management and Continuous Improvement initiatives
Strong business focus; analytical and strategic thinking skills.
Strong leadership and man-management skills
Flexibility and organizational ability to simultaneously manage various issues and projects in a high-performance environment.
Ability to work in cross-functional teams and culturally diversified multi-site groups.
Proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels and work in a team environment.

Fluency in English is essential. Knowledge of Bahasa or Mandarin preferred.
Working in a global team with geographically dispersed team members
Strong business partnering, facilitation, influencing and project management skills
