International Sales & Marketing Manager (Africa) - EXPONENT GLOBAL CONSULTING PTE LTD

Exponent Global Consulting is a Singapore-based boutique consulting firm that offers consulting and support services in the field of talent management, acquisition and development. We work closely with our partners and associates in Australia, China, India, West Europe and the US to deliver a range of strategic interventions across multiple organization levels. We work selectively with clients in Asia and focus on high impact initiatives.


The employer is mid-sized trading company headquartered in Hong Kong. The company has a 20-year track record of sourcing and exporting a wide range of products primarily from Greater China to Europe, North & South America, Middle East and Africa. Product lines include engineering goods, hardware, automotive accessories and components and related products. In view of its ongoing business expansion, especially in Africa, the company is looking for a high-caliber professional to join the team as :
Position:International Sales & Marketing Manager (Africa)

Location:Hong Kong
Role & Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible sales, marketing and business development of its different product lines to selected markets in Africa, particularly East and West Africa.
He/She will be responsible for managing the entire transaction cycle (including sourcing) and will work closely with the sourcing teams to develop both existing and new supply base.
He/She will be responsible for new client acquisition, marketing and brand development (including participation in trade fairs and exhibitions), OEM sales, channel development and management, client relationship management and P&L for the business handled by him/her.
Leadership of a lean team, oversight of trade documentation and logistics, and long term vendor relationship management will be other critical expectations. Frequent travel to both supply base in Far East and markets in Africa will be required.
Requirements
Ideal candidates will have :

Graduate degree in engineering/science/business. Post graduate qualification with a specialization in sales and marketing will be preferred.
At least 7-8 years of similar work experience, preferably with a reputed trading or manufacturing company
Strong exposure to sales and marketing in Africa, especially countries like Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania etc.
Exposure to light engineering goods, especially automotive products, preferred
Strong entrepreneurial flair, ambition, confidence level and business acumen.
Strong oral and written English skills. Knowledge of other languages preferred.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in multi-ethnic teams.
Strong work ethics and can-do attitude.
